Injection Molding Service

MAX Tonnage 270

Injection molding is an effective process for mass-producing components by injecting molten plastic into a mold. The plastic cools and hardens into a useful and durable part. The custom plastic injection molding process requires six key steps: clamping, injection, dwelling, cooling, mold opening, and part ejection.

MAX Shot 21.2 OZ

A mold holds the molten plastic material inside a concave depression, with several channels for temperature regulation through water or oil circulation, and an inlet where the plastic is injected. The plastic is injected at high pressure to fill every cavity in the mold, allowing for intricate detail. Runners and gates fill with plastic and direct it towards its destination where it solidifies. Once the material cools and hardens, the finished part is removed from the mold.

MAX Length 32 inches

Deciding to utilize plastic injection molding services for your product can involve a significant initial investment, so it’s crucial to design a product that will optimize efficiency and reduce costs. When designing a component, it’s essential to consider how well the design aligns with the molding process. Designing with injection molding in mind helps avoid costly errors and ensures a flawless product. Cycle time and assembly are critical factors when employing injection molding. Reducing cycle time can lead to cost savings by simplifying assembly and making it more cost-effective.

Scheduled Maintence on Molds

Regular maintenance is essential to ensure the longevity and efficiency of molds used in injection molding. Scheduled maintenance helps prevent downtime and ensures that molds remain in optimal condition for producing high-quality parts. By adhering to a maintenance schedule, potential issues can be identified and addressed promptly, minimizing disruptions to production.

Over Molding

Overmolding is a technique used in injection molding materials are combined to create a single part. This process involves molding one material over another to produce a component with enhanced functionality or aesthetics. Overmolding injection molding offers numerous benefits, including improved product durability, enhanced grip and feel, and the ability to incorporate multiple colors or textures into a single part.
